Aside from the money, one reason I have put off putting a new exhaust on the bike was that I did not want to void the original 1 year warranty.
I did not want there to be an issue with the bike and have the dealer say it was my fault because I had a custom exhaust and that caused the problem. The service manager suggested I wait with the Supertrapp until the year was over.
I have had people tell me that I have an overly conservative attitude. If I have an extended warranty for 3 years, I would be sure I would not make modifications which would void it. Anyone who is thinking of getting it should check with the dealer about their attitude towards any modifications you make to the bike.
